Helping companies define a clear direction for development, innovation, and artificial intelligence.Helping companies define a clear direction for development, innovation, and artificial intelligence.

Does artificial intelligence replace employees? AI knows how. But do we know what to do?

The question concerns both managers and employees, and there are no simple "yes" or "no" answers.

The question concerns both managers and employees, and there are no simple "yes" or "no" answers.

On January 16, in the Latvijas Radio program "Digital Breakfasts," ANIMAS director Gatis Romanovskis and AI expert Agate Ambulte discussed where AI provides the greatest value today and why technology alone does not solve anything. The most successful companies use AI not to replace people but to change how people work. The recording can be listened to on the LR1 page.

At the seminar "What Businesses Really Need from Future AI Skills" organized by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gatis discussed with business and education representatives the skills that will be needed in an environment where AI is already a daily work tool.

In our daily work at ANIMAS, we also see that what it means to be a valuable specialist is changing. Writing text, analyzing data, creating the first version of a solution, or automating a process is increasingly assisted by AI. However, this does not answer the question of which problems are worth solving at all.

The ability to notice opportunities, understand the essence of problems, ask the right questions, and make decisions is becoming increasingly important. Here lies the biggest challenge for education – not only to teach how to do but to develop the ability to understand what is worth doing.
