When people in the audience start taking pictures of the screen instead of the speaker, something impressive is being shown. Such a moment occurred on July 11 at the LAMPA conversation festival in the Artificial Intelligence Center tent, when Elviss Strazdiņš transformed into both the president of the country and a world-famous musician in just a few seconds.
In the discussion "How to prove that it is not you?" participated Gatis Romanovskis (ANIMAS, MILA), Dmitrijs Nikitins (Tet, MILA), Jānis Grīslis (VerifX), Anita Aiga Bērziņa (Office of the State Inspector) and Elviss Strazdiņš; it was moderated by Guna Puce. We talked about deepfakes, AI-generated fraud, digital identity, and trust in information.
If you received a call from your manager tomorrow with an urgent request to transfer money, would you be sure it is really their voice? AI-generated content will become commonplace. The question is how we will be able to verify information, maintain critical thinking, and protect ourselves when a single glance or voice recording will no longer suffice. Cybersecurity and critical information filtering are becoming a necessity for every leader and organization.
Thank you to the Artificial Intelligence Center and the MILA community for the opportunity to highlight this topic.
